Grant Application Instructions
APPLICATIONS ACCEPTED THE 1ST OF EACH MONTH
GRANT APPLICATION
Thank you for your interest in the Get Fit Tulsa Physical Education Grants program. The information you include in the application will provide the Allocations Committee with the data needed to make a judgment regarding the possible funding of your project. Please read and follow instructions closely. Applications that clearly describe the proposed project, list specifically the strategies required to implement the project, identify why the project is unique and how it promotes educational excellence, identify how progress will be measured, include specific timelines, and have a precise budget, are more likely to succeed.
Applications will be reviewed on a competitive basis. The number of applications selected will be determined by funds available and the quality of the proposed projects. The recipients of the grants will be announced by the 15th of each month.
The committee will review each application considering the following criteria:
- Adherence to the Grant Application Instructions outlined on this
page. Are the project objectives clearly stated, realistic and
worthwhile?
- Will the methods, materials, resource personnel and schedule
accomplish the project objective?
- Does the project test new idea in teaching, broaden the experience
of students, or serve as a model for other teachers?
- Is the project described in sufficient detail so readers who are non-educators have a clear understanding of your intent?
- Are the procedures for evaluating the project suited to the nature of the project and adequate to determine the effectiveness of the project?
- Is the project budget precise, reasonable, and sufficiently detailed?
- How many students will benefit from the project?
- Can the project be shared and/or duplicated in other classrooms and other schools?
Generally, funds WILL NOT be used to pay for:
- Projects which could be accomplished with existing funds
- Replacement or supplanting of public funds
- Honorariums, stipends, or any form of compensation
- Capital improvements or renovation
- Events, major equipment purchases (including computers) or fields trips (bus expense)
Based on these criteria, the Allocations Committee will either approve the application for funding or disapprove the application. You will be notified by 15TH of the month after final decisions are made.
Guidelines are available through Tulsa Public Schools Physical Education
Office.
